Mama Style is back and this week we have a super duper lady sharing her style secrets with us! Vicki writes over at Honest Mum and Mummy’s Got Style, where she writes all about her personal style and all of the pretty things in life that make her happy. Vicki is mum to two beautiful boys and also an award winning film director- we don’t know where she finds the time! In her photo she wears jeans-Jamie from Topshop, Stella & Dot Mae necklace, Future Strap Office sandals, Zara top and glamorous navy jacket.
Over to Vicki!
What is your Mama Style?
I tend to favour classic styles and pick and choose from the changing trends that work for my hourglass figure. My wardrobe features floral tea dresses, skinny jeans and pretty blouses, classic structured jackets, LDB’s, tonnes of cardigans, cropped jumpers and vests for lots of layering now the sun has gone. I love bright print scarves, statement necklaces, vintage boots and coats, huge handbags (I carry my life in) and most recently a whole lot of red everything from dresses to lips and nails!
Top tip for pregnancy wardrobe?
Mine would be to shop in the Tall section of Topshop (I stumbled across this in my first pregnancy and was reminded on twitter about it with my 2nd)-great as you can still wear stylish clothes that are simply longer so cover your bump. I adore all things Topshop but sadly not their ACTUAL maternity range which never worked for me (I found the sizing over large, frumpy, ill fitting), but the Tall section was ideal from plaid shirts to pretty day dresses.
New mums style tip?
I know it’s hard but try not to worry about your post baby body. You did an amazing job creating life there and regaining your old body takes time. I personally bought myself some flattering black dresses and the odd colourful stretchy one (Mathew Williamson in Debenhams was a life saver) I lived in post baby and when I felt comfortable enough Spanx were my best friend. We went everywhere together!
I love them all but I think the navy or cream would be my scarf of choice-classic and easy to match with your outfit, I would opt for those!
