Here at Mama Designs HQ we are passionate about designing and making quality garments to make your little ones stand out from the crowd. We are so proud of every single stitch we sew! This passion comes from a true love of babies, of fashion and of style- but we love Mamas too! This is why we launched our Mama Style series (followed by Snoodie Style more recently) and so it seemed only natural to launch another new series on the blog: Style Spotter!
Style Spotter is all about YOU. What you wear and why. What makes you feel good. The clothes that spring from your wardrobe screaming WEAR ME! The outfits that sum up your personality. The clothes you love your little ones to wear. We want to be inspired by you!
Our very first Style Spotter is the very lovely Katy, who blogs at Modern Mummy. Katy is a self-confessed fashion addict who describes her style as “the 1940s meets the 1960s with a little bit of the 1970s thrown in for good measure and a hint of English Country Casuals.” You can follow Katy on Twitter (@ModernMummyUK) and on Instagram– and make sure you check out her style board on Pinterest too.
“I’m wearing a dress from Cath Kidston. I’m a big fan of her tea dresses – over the years I’ve realised that a tea length dress suits my body shape the best and so I’ve amassed quite a collection. I look at the fashion of the 30s and 40s for inspiration; my favourite look is to wear a tea dress with a chunky knit cardigan, thick tights and boots in winter, or vintage style leather sandals in the spring. I love floral prints too, they’re so pretty and feminine.
Daisy is wearing the most amazing dress from Swedish brand me&i. She chose it herself which impressed me so much – I love letting her choose her own clothes and put her own outfits together. At age 4 she’s proving to be quite a little fashionista and I adore it!
Evie is wearing a jumper dress and tights from Gap. She’s 1 and is constantly on the go at the moment so I like to dress her in comfortable clothes that she can move about freely in.”
