Baby Sleeping bags are sometimes referred to as grobags or sleep sacks. If you don’t know anything about them, they are a sleeping bag with arm holes that your baby can sleep in overnight and for naptimes. They are designed to be used alone (without blankets or covers). Baby Sleep bags are a safer alternative to traditional sheets and blankets and the ideal next step for when your baby starts wriggling out of their swaddles and moving more in their sleep. The benefits of using a baby sleeping bag are that your baby won’t throw off their covers (which can wake them up), they can reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SID’s) sometimes referred to as “cot death” as your baby is less likely to overheat , they won’t get their legs caught in the cot bars, it provides a familiar environment for them whether sleeping at home or away. Many parents find their babies sleep better in a sleeping bag. Here is why you should consider a Babasac, our award-winning baby sleep sack.
Keeps Baby Safe
Safety will be the first thing you think of when thinking about what you use on your sleeping baby. Blankets and duvets can ride up over baby’s head as they move around, which can be dangerous. Babasac is approved to British Safety Standards and, as long as baby’s head cannot fit through the fastened neck hole(they are safe to use). The double poppers underneath the arm holes mean you can secure baby in, and they can still move their arms. You can start using a 0-6 size Babasac as long as your baby is 7lb8oz and their head doesn’t fit through the fastened neckhole. Some people prefer to swaddle first and then use a Babasac at about 2-3 months old.
Multi-Tog
Usually, when you buy baby sleeping bags, you’ll have to buy two versions. One with a higher tog rating for the winter, and a lower tog for the summer. This can be a pain when you’re not sure which to use, and buying multiple bags can get expensive! That’s why the Babasac has a multi-tog function, means you can easily zip out the inner layer on warmer nights, going from a 2.5tog to a 1 tog in one easy zip.
100% cotton
All our Babasacs are made of 100% cotton (inner lining and outer). The wadding is oeko tex standard polyester. The arm holes allow air to circulate, so that your baby won’t become too hot.
Easy Night-time Changes
As the zipper around the Babasac finishes at the bottom, there’s no more faffing about trying to get baby out of their sleeping bag for a change during the night. You can simply unzip the bottom of the Babasac, change baby, and zip them straight back up. Perfect for keeping baby calm during the night.
