If you are new to this mothering game you might not know what a baby bundler is and you may not have come across this wonderful invention in the baby departments. That’s ok because I didn’t even know they existed until I had my second baby!
Essentially a baby bundler is a pyjama gown or dress for your newborn whether they are a girl or a boy. They normally come in a wonderful soft cotton jersey material and with an open elasticated bottom trim. This is for easy access to change your baby’s nappy in the middle of the night without feeling like you are Mike Tyson and have had 3 rounds in the ring with a bunch of poppers on a baby grow.
The bundlers are designed for newborns through to three months, however I used mine on my son until he was older because his little toes hadn’t quite reached the bottom yet. When you get to your third baby and you’re neck deep in baby paraphnalia, you know what is worth the pounds and what should remain in the shops for eternity. This product is the former, they are worth every pound. In those first hazy days when your baby is pooping throughout the night or screaming because you’ve just got them out of the bath or they’re doing an Irish jig with their little gorgeous legs whilst you are trying to dress them, a baby bundler just makes all that crazy beautiful haze a little easier.
If you worry about their feet or legs being cold, you simply just tuck the excess material underneath their legs when you lay them down. When your baby gets a little bigger, you can use the bundler with a Mama Designs Babasac and if their feet pops out, they will still be warm. But what is super exciting is that we have just launched our own baby bundler which is absolutely gorgeous. It comes in a light grey which is a fab colour for both sexes. It has scratch mitts incorporated within the sleeves and a wonderful kimono neckline. Its made out of soft organic jersey cotton and it will last you longer than your average baby gro. I found 3 bundlers were just the right amount for us, so we had enough for wash cycles. I promise you will love them!
