I have been meaning to tell you about our Tripp Trapp for ages but y’know a new baby gets in the way a bit!
We were very kindly gifted a Tripp Trapp and Newborn seat from Stokke and we have been using it for the last few months. Firstly I want to say that this isn’t the first Tripp Trapp, we have had, I bought one 12 years ago for Sam and we are already big fans. This time for Daisy we went for the grey and we also got the newborn seat, which is an absolute game changer and one of my favourite baby items.
So we already know we love the Tripp Trapp, literally the highchair that keeps on giving and lasts as long as you want it to right up to adulthood. Before there was no option until baby could sit up themselves but now the newborn seat takes this highchair to a whole new level.
As a mama of three with two older children, we wanted Daisy to be part of what we are doing, especially at mealtimes. In the past (and when my older two were babies) this would have meant she was near us but down on the floor (in a bouncer or on a playmat) or alternatively on someone’s knee (hello crumbs on head!). She couldn’t see us or engage and mealtimes are important for us as a family. Now she is able to join us at the table and see what is going on and she loves it, as do we!
Another time that I find the Tripp Trapp baby seat really useful is when I am doing stuff in the kitchen, like preparing dinner. Don’t worry she is in the middle of the room so no danger! It means she is much higher up and gurgles away to me. I also use it next to me when I have to answer some emails and can still engage with her and she can see me.
I think her favourite time is when me and Lily (my 9 year old) put Daisy in the middle of the kitchen, put some music on and do our exercise around her (jumping around the room, she thinks its hilarious and tries to join in by moving her arms and legs!).
Now I know the Tripp Trapp is not the cheapest highchair but I would say, if you can, it is 100% worth the investment as it will last your child years and the baby seat is an absolute game changer. I knew I was going to love it but did not realise the difference it would make to our daily activities as a family of five. We were very grateful to receive this but all views are my own.
